    Keep in mind that when searching for scholarships, distinguishing between merit-based and non-merit-based will narrow your field, and provide more options to students who wish to receive aid for reasons other than academic performance. Students should listen to morning announcements for scholarship opportunities and deadlines.

    Excelsior Scholarship Application for 2018-2019 Now Available - The Excelsior Scholarship provides free tuition to New York State students whose families earn up to $110,000 annually, and who plan to attend a SUNY or CUNY two-year or four-year college. Applications are being accepted through July 23, 2018. Apply or learn more at hesc.ny.gov/excelsior.

    Enhanced Tuition Awards Application for 2018-19 Now Open - Students attending a private college in New York State may be eligible to receive up to $6,000 through the Enhanced Tuition Awards program. More information, a list of colleges participating, and a link to the application is available at hesc.ny.gov/eta.

    STEM Incentive Program Applications Now Available  - Do you plan to pursue a STEM degree at a public or private college in New York State this fall? Students in the top 10 percent of their graduating class can now apply for a NYS Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Incentive Scholarship Program award. Recipients may attend any public or private in-state college, and will receive an amount up to the SUNY resident undergraduate tuition ($6,670 in 2017-18) or actual tuition, whichever is less.     AMHERST GARDEN CLUB- is offering up to a $1500 scholarship for a student pursuing a two or four-year degree in an accredited college/trade or technical school majoring in: Conservation, Environmental Studies, Floriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Land Management, Landscape Design, Urban Planning, and other related fields.     CLARENCE CENTER VOLUNTEER FIRE CO LADIES AUXILLARY SCHOLARSHIP – This is a $500 award for a Clarence High School Senior who will be a full time student in a higher education program next year. The interested student must submit a 350 word or less essay explaining how their volunteer hours have benefitted them and their community. More information is available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 1, 2018

    PETER P. TYCZ II MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – A $250 scholarship for a graduating senior who resides in Niagara or Erie Counties, has a relative who is/was a veteran and anticipates being accepted into an accredited program of higher education in the fall of 2018. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 1, 2018

    ERIE COUNTY COMMITTEE AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP - The Erie County Committee of the American Legion is offering three $500 scholarships.  Instructions and application forms are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 4, 2018

    MICHAEL J. KOGUTEK AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP- Two $1500 scholarships to students/veterans attending college in 2018. This scholarship will be awarded based on monetary need, scholastic ability, realistic goals, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. Detailed information in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 4, 2018

    GARDEN FRIENDS OF CLARENCE SCHOLARSHIP – This $500 annual scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Clarence High School senior who has successfully completed a minimum of four science, math or technology courses, has contributed significantly towards the beautification of their community and plans to pursue a career in science, technology or any of the following career paths: Landscape Design, Floral Design, Forestry, Environmental studies, Agriculture, Horticulture, Green Energy & Green Technologies, and other related fields. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 4, 2018

    CLARENCE CENTER ELEMENTARY PTO SCHOLARSHIP – This $500 scholarship is available to a graduating senior who attended Clarence Center Elementary School. The application is available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 4, 2018.

    THE LITTLE RED SCHOOLHOUSE – The Little Red Schoolhouse is offering a $250 scholarship to three seniors in high school who will be attending a two or four-year college in the fall of 2018. Students need to have attended The Little Red Schoolhouse, be a sibling of someone that has attended or be a child of someone that has been on the staff of The Little Red Schoolhouse. Information is available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: May 11, 2018.

    THE ENGINEERING SOCIETY OF BUFFALO, INC- Three $2400 scholarships are available to students accepted to the Engineering School of the State University of New York. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline: June 1, 2018

    HORATIO ALGER ASSOCIATION CAREER & TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship program provides financial assistance to students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Students must be enrolled in a career or technical certificate/degree program and be a US citizen. For more information and application go to www.application.horatioalger.org. First deadline: June 15, 2018

    NEW YORK STATE ARCHIVES STUDENT RESEARCH AWARDS - The New York State Archives announces its 28th annual student Research Awards program to promote and recognize excellence in student research. The award consists of a cash prize and a certificate.  Visit www.archives.nysed.gov and click on Education.  Entries must be postmarked no later than July 1, 2018

    THOMAS BAZINET AWARD – $500 award given to a 12th grader who played for the CGSL.  The award is given in memory of Thomas Bazinet, a Board Member on the Clarence Girls Softball League from 1986 until 2002.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline: July 1, 2018

    Western Chapter of the New York State Head Mechanics Association-awarding a scholarship to a student from WNY pursuing Automotive Education. Information and requirements available in the guidance office. Deadline:  July 31, 2018
