After a year of hard worand planning, last Friday the seniors and their dates entered the CHS Post Prom Beach Party after 11:30 pm. We had 80% of the senior class attend, which is very impressive!
The gym was transformed with activities galore! See some pictures online. We had DJ Andrews playing the music, dance dance revolution, a photo station, 2 caricature artists, 2 henna tattoo artists, an airbrush tattoo artist, a traveling magician, a balloon artist, blackjack tables, 3 large inflatables and many other games! We had our Wall of Fame which included over 160 collages made from pictures of the students which their parents sent in!
The cafeteria was home to spin art frisbees and delicious food! Our food committee organized some great donations this year including: Brennan’s wings, Wegmans’ sushi, Dessert Deli’s dessert tray, Salsarita’s tortilla chip bar, Dash’s subs, Mazia’s pizza and more!
We had over 127 gift cards and baskets donated and 54 large prizes ending with two Apple watches and 2 Macbook Air Laptops!
We couldn’t have made the evening a success without our committee chairs :Marilyn Heximer, Kristy Farrell, Sue Laino, Kelly Foti, Deb Naylor, Linda Knorz, Lori Prelewicz, Lynn Weiss, Kathy Lorenz, Colleen DiCostanzo, Suzie Attea, Marianne Messuro, Loretta Nappo, Debbie Kucinski, Karen Kist and Komal Prasad! We also want to thank the over 80 volunteers that held during Post Prom! We started at 3:30 pm decorating and ended clean up around 3:30 am.
A big thank you to all that donated throughout the year! We made a donor board, however, donations are as of May 20, 2017. If you happened to make a donation after that, we appreciate that as well! We had many local businesses give monetary donations as well as gift cards. We also appreciate all who participated in our numerous fundraisers which included: The Buffalo Bills helmet raffle, Chipotle fundraiser, Gift Gathering at Murphy Brown’s, house basketball concessions, Panera fundraiser and the Chiavetta’s fundraiser!
It is a tradition at Clarence HS that the parents plan the Post prom party to keep our children safe in an alcohol and substance-free environment. We succeeded and are happy to hear such positive feedback from the students, parents and staff!
Thank you again and have a wonderful summer!
