    About the Teacher:  Hello and welcome to first grade!  My name is Rebecca Cieplinski and I will be your child's teacher this year. I have been teaching at Sheridan Hill for 16 years.   I look forward to a great year with your child.  I am honored to have the opportunity to work with your child and each of you.  I hope that you will serve as a partner with me to provide the guidance your child needs to be successful. 

    In our classroom, learning will be a social, active process.  I have many exciting activities planned that I am confident your child will learn from and enjoy.   I encourage curiosity, exploration, and investigation so that students learn to find solutions.  As I guide your child's progress, I will acknowledge effort, as well as performance, and lead him/her to discover that learning is a lifelong process.

    I hope that I have demonstrated my desire to create a classroom environment where your child feels safe and can be successful.  My goal is to provide my students with the skills, strategies, and knowledge they require to be successful in their academic and personal lives.
