I am currently a special education teacher at Sheridan Hill and have been for the past 10 years. I have a vast background since I have had the opportunity to teach in many settings. I began my career at Sweethome where I taught a 6:1:1 behaviorally challenged population as well as resource room at the elementary level. I then relocated to Texas where I taught 3 years at a middle school in Houston that contained behaviorally challenged students. Upon my return to WNY, I worked for BOCES in a self-contained program that addressed extreme behaviors and ultimately slowly reintegrated students back to an integrated setting. I was then hired by Lancaster where I taught children with developmental disabilities at the high school level and was instrumental in acquiring job coaching as part of that program. Once again I had to relocate, so I spent 5 years in Ohio teaching special education at the elementary level. Finally, I returned back to WNY and continued my teaching career at Clarence.
