    About Mr. Furminger:  Originally from Lancaster, New York, Mr. Furminger received his Bachelors Degree from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut.  He went on to receive his teaching certification in Music Education from the University at Buffalo and his Masters in Music Education from Fredonia State College.  Mr. Furminger began his career in 1997 splitting his time between Gates Chile and Clarence School Districts.  The following year Mr. Furminger became a full time teacher for the Clarence School District. 

    For the past 22 years, Mr. Furminger has been the elementary band director and instrumental lesson teacher at Ledgeview Elementary and Harris Hill Elementary.  Throughout those years he has also spent time at Clarence Middle and High Schools teaching percussion to students.  In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Furminger is also head of the Tech crew at Clarence Middle School.

    Mr. Furminger is involved in many Clarence sports.  He has coached Girls JV soccer and lacrosse as well as Girls Varsity soccer.  Currently, he is actively involved in coaching Clarence youth lacrosse, basketball, and baseball. 

    Mr. Furminger is also involved with the Clarence Town Summer Band and enjoys playing percussion every summer with his co-workers, past and present students, and community members.  When not teaching or playing, Mr. Furminger enjoys spending time with his wife Amy, sons Noah and Henry, daughter Molly, and dog Sunny.  They love to travel and spend many summer days at their cottage in Northern Ontario or on the beaches of Block Island.
