    This year each student will learn to have the FACE of a Reader.  We use the FACE mnemonic to help us remember what Reading Strategies and Skills are needed to become THOUGHTFUL READERS

    luency - I can read accurately, with expression, and understand what I read


    A
    ccuracy - I can read the words


    C
    omprehension - I understand what I read

    E
    xpand concepts of print - I am aware of print and know how to handle a book


    When I confer with students during Reading Workshop we will set an individual goal for their reading success.  Each student will place a post-it with their name under the strategy they are working on personally. 
    As a class we will continue to learn about all of the strategies and skills good readers need through Mini Lessons, Shared Reading and Interactive Read Aloud and post them accordingly on our FACE of a Reader board.
