4th Grade Writing:
Students will use the writer's workshop model. The process of writing and revising is strongly emphasized. Students will generate ideas for their writing and then develop one or more of those ideas into a finished writing piece. During this writing journey we will examine how to improve various aspects of their writing (i.e., organization, strong leads, word choice, transitions, elaboration, developing details, editing). Students will often work with writing partners to provide and receive assistance. It is important for students to be motivated to make improvements to their writing and to use their writing time productively.
