Even though there is no "homework" for physical education we encourage parents and students to participate in physical activities at home. In order to control the childhood obesity problem, the U.S. Surgeon General recommends moderate physical activity for children every day for at least 60 minutes. Involvement of the entire family is a motivating factor to exercise. Physical activities that involve both parents and children have shown improvement in long-term health and fitness according to the American Obesity Association.
Here are some great tips to help get your children playing.
Provide unstructured play time
Encourage playing with other children.
Choose after-school and summer school programs that allow play time.
The most important thing is to allow your children be children and learn through play.
