The Clarence High School Choral program is comprised of weekly small group lessons and daily chorus rehearsals, which take place during the school day.
Lessons are arranged to provide flexibility so students miss as little class time as possible. Whether on a posted rotating schedule or in a sign up format, students should not miss the same class period more than two times in any marking period, and may even be able to schedule their lessons during lunches and study halls.
Choirs are ability-based groups whose membership is determined by audition. Mixed Chorus, Treble Chorus, and Chorale rehearse daily, and each gives at least three public performances per year. In addition, the high school also has a Vocal Jazz ensemble- an extracurricular ensemble that rehearses outside of the school day. Vocal Jazz performs during the high school chorus concerts, as well as several other performances throughout the year. There are also 3 additional extracurricular choirs students may choose to participate in. Chamber Choir, Guys Chorus and Women’s Chorus are student led groups that rehearse outside of the school day and perform in each of the choir concerts.
