•  Project Linus

The fifth grade classes at Sheridan Hill worked with their classmates and parents to hand tie fleece blankets for Project Linus. This organization's mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Our Sheridan Hill blanketeers purchase fleece, prep the material, and hand tie blankets in school with their classmates and parents as part of this project. Students wrap themselves in their blankets and have a class picture taken before saying a final good bye to their creations. This community service project emphasizes the importance of helping others who are in need and exemplifies a spirit of giving.
