• Screenings At School

    During each school year, the school nurses conduct health screenings of students per state law mandates. The health screenings include the following:

    • Vision screening for distance acuity in grades Pre-K or Kindergarten, 1, 3, 5, 7 and 11.
    • Hearing screening for all students new to the district and in grades Pre-K or Kindergarten, 1, 3, 5, 7 and 11.
    • Scoliosis screening (curvature of the spine) for students in grades 5 and 7 for girls and grade 9 for boys.
    • Students new to the district will be screened for vision (near and far), hearing & color perception.

    Parents/guardians are notified of any abnormalities and are asked to follow up with the family physician.
