Today is NEST DAY!
Reading
Lots of animals make a nest for their babies in the spring!
We can find out about nests on the www.pebblego.com website. Once there, click Sign In. Remember our user name is Sheridan and our password is school. Once there, go to Animals, then Birds, then songbirds, then robins. Click the Read More tab and then, select the book Baby Animals in Nests. This is an informational book. You will see that it has photographs, a Table of Contents, an Index and a Glossary. Notice the beautiful photograph of the mother robin and her nest.
Writing Workshop
Let's add the fourth page to our spring book today! We will write the sentence "Birds make nests in spring." So, let's draw a nest. You can go to this website to watch a draw-a-long video.

Math
Let's practice our take away fast facts today. You can use your flip cards or you can go to the IXL website to practice subtraction.
Science
When you think about a bird building a nest, it is really quite amazing! Birds do not have hands! They gather materials and build their nests using their beaks, bodies and feet! See if you can build a small bird nest today. You can use playdough or clay. Or you can go outside and gather up some things from nature like the birds do. You can make some eggs for your nest with playdough or you can find something in nature to represent eggs. Little round pebbles work great! Have fun!
Don't forget to check your rain guage.
Story Time
Today our story is Who Took the Farmer's Hat. You will enjoy looking at the pictures and listening to this story about a very kind farmer who is looking for his hat.
