Wonderful Wednesday, May 6
Good Morning, Everyone!
Reading Workshop
Let's study two more Mother Goose Rhymes today!
Since Wednesday is usually a gym day, let's begin with the action rhyme One, Two Buckle My Shoe.
Click this link to read along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otf4_UEvnQ8
See if you can use a full sentence to answer these questions:
1. What does the rhyme say to do to your shoe? (The words in the rhyme tell you to buckle your shoe).
2. What is the last number in this rhyme? (The last number is 10).
3. Do you have a shoe with a buckle? Can you think of another item that can be buckled? (Boots, belts and coats can have buckles).
Act It Out
Acting out stories and rhymes is a good strategy for helping us remember and retell them!
Use chalk to draw a hopscotch board in your driveway. You can make hopscotch boards with different hopping patterns. Try some out! Have fun!

Now, let's study the nursery rhyme Hickory Dickory Dock.
Listen to see who the main character is and where the action is taking place.
Click here to listen to the rhyme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY5C8FIVfgs
See if you can use a full sentence to answer these questions:
1. Who is the main character in this rhyme? (The main character is a mouse).
2. What is the mouse doing? (The mouse is running up and down a clock).
3. What does it mean when the clock strikes one? (It means that it is one o'clock).
4. What time would it be when the clock strikes three? (It would be 3 o'clock).

Writing Workshop
Yesterday, we listened to the story A Letter For Amy. It was about a boy named Peter who was having a birthday party. He had a problem so he wrote a letter to Amy. Lots of people are having problems with birthday parties. People can't have birthday parties and people can't go to birthday parties. Maybe this is happening to you! Maybe you wanted to have a birthday party or maybe you miss going to birthday parties. Let's see what we can think of to solve birthday party problems. Write a letter to someone in your family who can help. Use this check list to help you write your letter.
