COVID-19 Student Testing Information
The Clarence Central School District has been approved as a Limited Service Laboratory (LSL) by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The designation allows the district to test students for COVID-19. The revised orange zone regulations require testing 20% of students, faculty, and staff over the course of a month. Testing must be done on a weekly basis.
If you received notification that your children have been selected, our testing facility is open weekdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday. No appointment is necessary, you can visit the testing center during the hours of operation.
Our central testing facility is Clarence Middle School. Testing will be conducted on a drive-thru basis, you will not be required to leave your vehicle. The test will take minimal time. A nurse will swab the inside of both nostrils with a small Q-tip, after which, you can exit the testing area. The nurse will bring the test kit to our indoor logistical center where the results will be interpreted in 15 minutes. A representative from the school will contact you by phone if the test is positive or by text-message if the test is negative. Our nurses will also input test results into NYSDOH database.
