Superintendent

Dr. Matt Frahm has been Superintendent of the Clarence Central School District since August 1, 2021. Matt began his career as a secondary social studies teacher in the Geneseo Central School District before becoming High School Principal in the Naples Central School District. Prior to Clarence, Matt served as the Superintendent of the Naples Central School District for 7 years.

Matt is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo where he earned an undergraduate degree in History and a Master’s degree in Secondary Social Studies. After receiving his Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration from SUNY Brockport, Matt completed his doctoral work in Executive Leadership at St. John Fisher College. Focused on better understanding leadership behaviors that impact teacher retention, Matt’s dissertation research was published in a peer reviewed article for The Rural Educator.

Matt previously served as the President of the Wayne-Finger Lakes Chief School Officers Association, President of the Naples Rotary Club, and Board Chair of the Partnership for Ontario County. He is currently a Board Member for Qholaquoe Mountain Connections, a member of several state and local committees, and he has had the pleasure of presenting at conferences organized by NYSCOSS, NYSCATE, EduCon, the Rural Schools Association, and the National Rural Education Association.

Originally from the Ithaca area, Matt spent his childhood visiting Clarence to spend time with his grandparents and cousins. Outside of work, Matt enjoys running, reading, traveling, and connecting with family.
