The Clarence Central School District owns and maintains its own bus fleet. We are extremely proud of our safety and fleet maintenance records, which are always in the top 10% of the entire state. We have about 120 employees (including bus drivers, mechanics, attendants, transportation clerk and supervisors) who work out of the bus facility at 9825 County Road (716-407-9500). Although the numbers change constantly, we travel well over 1,000,000 miles each year, have almost 100 vehicles and transport approximately 5,200 students to approximately 60 different sites.

Transportation is provided for students in grades K-6 residing more than .2 mile from their schools and students in grades 7-12 residing more than .9 mile from their school. The mileage is measured from the student's home to the school or bus stop. Students living within those guidelines are expected to walk to school. Some students, however, may be allowed to walk back to the nearest scheduled bus stop, subject to certain limits and carry capacity. In establishing bus routes, the staff considers health and safety measures, economy of operation and time schedules.
