    About the Teacher:

    Welcome!
    Welcome!

Welcome to your child's first grade class! My name is Patty Brown and I have been a teacher at Clarence Center since September of 1986. All but one of those years was spent in the first grade classroom.

I currently live in East Amherst with my husband Kevin and our two children, Danny and Katie. We enjoy traveling, attending sporting events and gathering together for family functions.

I graduated from Buffalo State College with a BS degree in Elementary Education and a MS degree in Reading. I have  wanted to be a first grade teacher since I was six years old. My wish came true! The growth and development  of the kiddos from September to June is amazing!

The focus of our program is reading. Each child learns to read at his/her own developmental rate. All curriculum is presented to your child using the three main modalities of learning: auditory, visual and kinesthetic.

Our class consists of 16 inquisitive and bright girls and boys. Respect and honesty are the two main themes stressed daily in our room. All children are expected to follow school rules and treat others kindly.

We are fortunate to have Mrs. Diane Wolf as our classroom aide. Mrs. Wolf has worked in our building for many years. She is wonderful with the children. She is an asset to our program.

I am looking forward to a fantastic 2019-2020 school year!

Please contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to working with you and your child.
