    About the Teacher:  

    Nicholas D’Amaro maintains a multi-faceted career as a professional musician, music educator, and clinician in Western New York. D’Amaro received his bachelors and master’s degree in Music Education studying voice with Dr. Ho Eui Holly Bewlay, and viola with Ms. Kate Holzemer. Currently, Nicholas teaches at Clarence Middle School where he teaches Chorus and General Music. Prior to his appointment in Clarence, Nicholas taught High School and Elementary Orchestra in the Evants-Brandt (Lake Shore) School District.
     
    Ensembles under Mr. D’Amaro’s leadership have performed at The NYSSMA Majors Festival, winning superior ratings, The Orlando Fest Competition at Universal Studios, placing first in their division, at the Art of Follies Workshop, and at the University of Florida. In addition to his teaching duties in Clarence, Nicholas is currently the chair for the Erie County Music Educators Association Junior High North Orchestra and has served as the chair for the Junior High South Orchestra from 2019 – 2022. Presently, he serves on the organization's Instrumental Committee. Nicholas maintains an active private studio, teaching voice, piano, and upper strings.
     
    An avid performer. Nicholas has performed a variety of roles and plays in several ensembles. Recent credits include, Beethoven’s Symphony 9, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, and Rutter’s Mass of the Children. Currently, D’Amaro plays in the Cheektowaga Community Symphony Orchestra and in the Buffalo State Philharmonia. A staunch advocate for the creation and performance of new music, Nicholas has collaborated and performed with composers in Buffalo, New York, and frequently participates in vocal recitals.
     
    Nicholas is a member of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), the Erie County School Music Association (ECMEA), and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
