Clarence Assistant Superintendent, Student Honored By Business Officials’ Organization
As she was recognized for her leadership and professionalism by an organization for school business officials, Dr. Patricia Grupka said she was grateful to those who supported her career and her work.
“In the world of business officials, success is not achieved alone,” she said. “It is the result of collaboration, and innovation. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all those who have been part of this journey, from mentors who have offered guidance along the way to colleagues who have shared in both the challenges and triumphs.”
The assistant superintendent for finance and operations for the Clarence Central School District received the Western Chapter of the New York State Association for School Business Officials’ Business Official of the Year award during a ceremony on May 17.
Also honored at the event was Oaklie Zdrojewski, a Clarence High School senior. Oaklie, nominated by teacher Brian Schmidt, received a president’s scholarship for $1,000.
Dr. Grupka began her service with the district in 2022. In addition to her role overseeing the district’s finances, the district’s Business Office oversees elements of district operations including capital projects, Buildings and Grounds and Transportation.
Dr. Matthew Frahm, superintendent of the Clarence Central School District, praised Dr. Grupka for her work on behalf of the district’s schools and students.
“You won't find a business official more deserving of this recognition than Dr. Grupka,” he said. “She believes in the power of collaboration, supports those new to the profession, and keeps students at the center of her work. We are fortunate to have someone with her expertise in our school community and we offer her our congratulations on this important achievement."
Dr. Grupka, who received her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University at Buffalo, arrived at the district following years of experience in school administration across western New York, including with the Lewiston-Porter Central School District and the Williamsville Central School District.
