Clarence Faculty, Staff Prepare for Start for 2026-27 School Year

Faculty and staff in the Clarence Central School District were reminded of their ability to help students succeed when they worked together as they were welcomed ahead of the 2026-27 school year.

“Students are coming into our buildings, our classrooms, they have incredible potential,” said Dr. Matt Frahm, Superintendent of Schools. “The folks sitting in this auditorium are going to pull out all of their gifts and all of their talents by making sure they understand how important they are, so that they can grow up as artists, that they can grow up as scientists, that they can grow up as athletes.”

Dr. Frahm also recognized the staff for their willingness to go above and beyond to build a positive school community within the District. 

The opening day from staff on September 1 included words of encouragement and enthusiasm from multiple members of the school community. Staff also heard a rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” by Clarence Middle School student Avery Handley, as well as a cello performance of “Swans” from Clarence High School student Martin Ieda. Technology Department members Robert Raineri, Timothy Ekkebus, Michael Jacobsen, Jason Dluga, Benjamin Lathan, Robert Raineri were also presented Red Devil Recognitions during the event.

Board of Education President James Boglioli shared how teachers inspired his growth, and reminded members of the staff that their work can help students beyond their time in school.

“They will take the lessons you taught them. They will take the confidence you gave them. They will take the example you set, and they will take the moments when you believed in them,” Boglioli said.

Julia Jobes, Clarence High School student who is the Board of Education’s student member, shared a thank you to staff for the work they do each day, even at times when the work can appear to go unnoticed. 

“Even on those quiet days, your effort gets through. We notice the thought you put into your lessons, the grace you extend, the environment you create. We appreciate it far more than we usually know how to express,” Julia said. 

The first day for students in the District is scheduled for September 8, 2026.
