Clarence High School Student Named to All-Eastern Honors Ensemble Festival
Updated

Clarence High School senior Angelina Fetterly was recognized for her passion for music with a selection to the mixed chorus of the National Association for Music Education’s 2025 All-Eastern Honors Ensemble Festival.

“One word I’d use to describe it is unbelievable,” Angelina said. “I didn’t think I’d get any kind of recognition like this. There’s so much talent, especially in Clarence.”

Angelina will perform at the festival with approximately 600 student musicians from 11 different states, Washington D.C., as well as Department of Defense schools in Europe as part of the festival in Hartford, Conn. at the end of April. The prestigious biennial event selects from thousands of student applicants through their performance at All State events, and will allow students to receive a wide range of music instruction and performance opportunities through their time at the event. Choral students will be working under the direction of Dr. Anton Armstrong of St. Olaf College.

In addition to the selection to the ensemble, Angelina was recently selected for the Friends of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young Musicians’ Scholarship, for which she will be recognized with other students and educators during an event at Kleinhans Music Hall on May 10. Also being recognized at the event is Clarence Middle School music teacher Thomas Stroth.

Angelina said she is planning on studying vocal performance at Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio.

For nearly two decades, the Clarence Central School District has received the Best Communities for Music Education award from the NAMM Foundation, which reflects schools that demonstrate exceptionally high levels of commitment and access to music education.
