The Clarence Central School District Board of Education appointed Chris Kilmartin to serve as Assistant Principal at Clarence Middle School at its meeting on November 18, 2024.

Kilmartin, who currently serves as a fourth grade teacher at the Starpoint Central School District, will become House Principal for seventh grade, replacing outgoing Assistant Principal Matt Lauer. Kilmartin will formally join the District on January 2, 2025.

Kilmartin’s selection came after school staff and administrators along with District leadership evaluated 38 applicants.

“Mr. Kilmartin stood out as the candidate who would best be able to jump right into our CMS community and do great work with our students, faculty, and staff,” said Ashley Dreibelbis, Middle School Principal, in a letter to families. She added that Kilmartin’s experience demonstrated his commitment to working with students and families.

“We are confident Mr. Kilmartin will be able to provide support for middle level learners in the same exceptional ways he has supported his own classroom students,” Dreibelbis said. “Mr. Kilmartin has also served as a leader in a variety of ways and will be able to apply those skills as an instructional leader at CMS.”
