Clarence Students Compete at NCCC Tech Wars Event
Clarence High School and Clarence Middle School students competed with students from across the region during the Tech Wars competition at Niagara County Community College.
During the annual event, which was held this year on January 7, 2026, the Clarence High School team finished seventh out of 22 teams, and the Clarence Middle School team finished sixth out of 19 teams. The competition brings together hundreds of local students to compete in events including bridge design, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) problem solving and 3D printed carbon dioxide-powered vehicles.
Clarence students found success in multiple events during the day.

Great job by all of our student participants! Thank you to High School team advisors Jason Urbanek, Zachary Meal, Thomas Maroney and Sean Murray, as well as Middle School advisors Joshua Arnold, Peter Balisteri, Bradley Wright, Pamela Urbanek and Daniel Tarnowski. In addition to his advising role, Meal served as one of the main organizers for the event with the Western New York Technology Educators Association.
