Restructured Clarence High School Open House Emphasizes Connections

Administrators at Clarence High School said a new format for Open House will make it easier for students and families to build connections in the school ahead of the new school year. This year's Open House is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2.

"We want it to be a positive experience, and for students and families to see we have good teachers here, good clubs and activities here, and that we're working together as a team," said Principal Kenneth Smith.
The new format of Open House will provide students and families parents with a free flowing schedule to visit classrooms and for students to select their locker. The date was selected to help build attendance and avoid conflicts with activities like athletics.

"This event will provide flexibility for parents and students to come in so they're ready for the start of the school year,” Smith said.

Students and families will also be able to meet with student representatives from an array of clubs and activities at the High School. During Open House, students will be able to socialize with friends, purchase merchandise from their graduation class, and walk around the building to help further understand their schedule. Families will also be able to meet with representatives of volunteer organizations supporting students in areas like music and athletics.
