Clarence CSD Safety Communication
Dear Clarence School Family,
I am writing to let you know that earlier this morning, multiple school districts across New York State—Clarence included—received a threatening email from an anonymous source. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC), and local law enforcement agencies are all aware of the email and are actively looking into it. However, due to the mass nature of the communication, authorities have indicated it is likely a hoax, especially given that schools are currently engaged in Regents and midterm testing.
At this time, authorities have indicated that the threat is believed to be non-credible, and as a result, academic programming is continuing across the region as originally planned. We are grateful for the swift and coordinated response of law enforcement, and we would like to acknowledge the efforts of our School Resource Officers as well as our Director of Technology for their support this morning.
We will keep you updated if further information becomes available, but we wanted to assure you that any threat is taken seriously in our school community. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain of the utmost importance, and we fully support law enforcement’s efforts to identify the individual responsible and hold them accountable.
Sincerely,
Matt Frahm
School Superintendent
