Video Highlighting Clarence Music Department Recognized
A video highlighting the Music Department of the Clarence Central School District was recently recognized with an Honor award by the New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) as part of its annual Communications Contest.
The video, “Clarence Named Among Best Communities for Music Education for 20 Years,” shared the work of students and teachers in the District that led to the District being named a Best Communities for Music Education designation by The NAMM Foundation for the 20th consecutive year. The video, created in collaboration with Erie 1 BOCES Communication Services, featured clips of every single active teacher in the District’s Music Department during the 2024-25 school year, including a wide range of classroom, rehearsal, concert and special event footage.
“It was an honor to see so many incredibly passionate and talented music instructors and students at work, and to share these moments with the community,” said Gordon Block, a Senior Public Relations Representative at Erie 1 BOCES who produced the video. “The NAMM recognition reflects the long track record of support and enthusiasm for music from District leadership, staff, students and families as well as the community.”
NYSPRA said that this year there were 144 projects recognized out of 470 that were entered, and that more than 40 communications professionals from across the country served as judges for this year’s contest. Award recipients will be formally recognized during NYSPRA’s 2026 Spring Conference.
