Students at Ledgeview Elementary School had a colorful start to their day as the school prepared to celebrate its annual Color-a-Thon Run.

Top student fundraisers Ben Morra, Louis Amoia and Emilia Mudra had the honors of hitting principal Keith Kuwik with colored powder and confetti, as they were cheered on by their classmates in the front of the school building. As top fundraiser, Ben was dropped off at school by Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Ashley Piel and her K9 partner Kojak.

“It was awesome,” Ben said.

The annual fundraiser supports classroom activities and field trips by the school’s PTO.

“It’s a lot of fun for the kids,” Kuwik said. “It’s great to see their excitement. I love being orange and pink and green and red.”
