School Resource Officer
My name is Mike Ballow and I have been the School Resource Officer at Clarence High School since 2016.
Before becoming the SRO, I was a Trooper with the New York State Police for 30 years. I was stationed in several different areas of the state during that time but worked the last 19 years here in Clarence. While with the State Police, I was a Field Training Officer, a member of the Mobil Field Unit, and a Narcotics Detection K-9 handler for 15 years. My duties in the District include being a mentor, teacher, and law enforcement officer. I enjoy interacting with the students throughout the day, whether in the hallways, cafeteria, classrooms or attending athletic events. I also enforce criminal violations that may occur during the school year. However, many times I spend time with the students in a proactive manner to try and resolve the issues before they become criminals.
I have an open-door policy and urge students, staff, and parents to stop by about any issues they may have or just to say hello. I reside in Clarence with my wife Alison. We have two children who received their education in Clarence. Our son Matthew is severely disabled and graduated from Clarence at the age of 21. Our daughter Alexandra graduated in 2017 and is pursuing a degree in teaching.
I look forward to another safe year here at Clarence by maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly learning environment for students, teachers, and staff.
Go Red Devils!!!
