Sheridan Hill second grade teacher, Mrs. Vasi thought of a fun way to get students reading more on their own over the holidays. Right before Christmas break, the class had a special Adopt-a-Pet day. The students all chose different stuffed animal puppies to adopt and take care of. Part of being a great pet owner was to read to their new animal. Students all signed contracts and agreed to be super readers to their new furry friends. Parents and children loved the time over break spent reading together. These students continue to take care of their puppies by reading to them daily.
