Update from Clarence CSD December 22, 2022

Dear Clarence School Family,

While spending time at the High School Art Auction a couple weeks ago, a piece by Kylie Dawson (Class of 2024) caught my eye. I was so impressed that Mr. Gilham and I asked Kylie if she would be willing to put together a holiday card for us to digitally send to families. Kylie did not disappoint, and I wanted to pass along a link to what she created as a way of saying Happy Holidays from our school community.

The student cheers in the hallways after the snow day message went out this morning have led me to believe that our kids are going to be OK with an extended break. However, on a more serious note, I do know that the school cancellation has disrupted a number of special holiday traditions that were planned this year. To give you a sense of what December has looked like in our buildings, we wanted to pass along a handful of images set to music performed by our own #ClarenceProud students.

As we take the time to count our blessings this December, please know that we count your continued partnership twice. It is a special privilege to be part of this school family, and we thank you for entrusting us with the care of your sons and daughters.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Matt Frahm
Superintendent of Schools

PS: If you are looking for a bit more holiday cheer, check out this piece on Patty Reitz—a Clarence bus driver who has crocheted 7,082 hats for her students over the years at Harris Hill Elementary School. Patty is a pretty incredible person, and her kindness is a great example of how Clarence educators go above and beyond for kids.
