Update from Clarence CSD February 17, 2023
Dear Clarence School Family,
With Mid-Winter Recess coming quickly, I will keep my Friday email relatively brief for those who might be focused on traveling to warmer locations. However, this was a big week as we celebrated the 100th Day of School, the 101st Day of School, as well as Valentine’s Day, and I wanted to pass along a couple quick updates before the day comes to a close.
Students Inducted into National Technical Honor Society
As you know, each year we have students attend the Harkness Career and Technical Center where they have the chance to engage in learning that leads to college credits, technical experience, and industry certifications in high-demand fields. To celebrate the accomplishments of individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their chosen vocational disciplines, a group of area students were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. This is a big deal, and we would like to congratulate Aryn Carlisle (Animal Science), Andrew Dimitroff (Aviation Technology), Matthew Baron (Building Trades), Vincent Akiki (Criminal Justice), Emmaleigh Pollard (Criminal Justice), Thomas Santillo (Digital Media), Sofia Todaro (Health Careers) and Julia Bartels (Sports Science Careers) on their academic achievement.
Random Acts of Kindness Day
You may not be aware, but today is Random Acts of Kindness Day. To celebrate, our SADD students spent time handing out stickers, leaving post-it notes on lockers, and displaying positive posters around the High School. The occasion reinforces the notion that “kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give,” and I thought I would pass along some suggestions in case you might be interested in participating.
Annual Clarence Faculty Basketball Game
Finally, make sure you have our March 30 Clarence Faculty Basketball Game on your calendar. The annual event is a great way to have fun, raise funds for the Clarence Schools Enrichment Foundation (CSEF), and see some of your favorite teachers in action!
We hope you can enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation next week, and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Monday, February 27.
