Clarence Students Inducted into National Technical Honor Society

A group of Clarence High School students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, reflecting their work in Career and Technical Education programs.

The Clarence students recognized included Andre Biddlecom (Exercise Science), Daniel Geary (Electrical Systems), Seth Metz (Welding), Evan Philyaw (Web Tech & Game Programming), Emily Sciolino (Digital Media) and Summer West (Digital Media, ).

A total of 194 students representing Erie 1 BOCES’ four Career and Technical Education centers were inducted during the November 2 ceremony at Villa Maria College, according to a news release. Student inductees were told their work was important for themselves and for the region.

“We have a lot of challenges and a lot of great opportunities; opportunities that we haven't seen in Buffalo and in Western New York in a long, long time, and they're right here,” Dr. Matthew Giordano, president of Villa Maria College. “You have the chance to make the most of those opportunities.”

Students were also told that one key skill for their future was surrounding themselves with people that would positively impact their growth.
